At H & A Art Studio, we are dedicated to imparting a strong foundation in fine art. Our approach is rooted in traditional, 'old school' teaching techniques and principles, ensuring that our students not only discover the joy of art but also develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in high-level art colleges and universities. We welcome students of all levels, from beginners with no prior art experience to those aspiring to pursue a career in the arts.
Artist / Art Educator
Arega Grigoryan is an accomplished artist originally from Armenia and currently based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Recognized as a gifted artist from an early age, she began her artistic journey in childhood and later pursued formal education in fine arts.
With over 17 years of professional experience, Arega is known for creating deeply emotive and expressive works, with a particular focus on portraiture. Her art explores themes of identity, emotion, inner worlds, and poetic imagination. She primarily works with oil on canvas and charcoal, mediums through which she achieves both intensity and subtlety.
Arega holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and has further expanded her practice through digital art studies. Her work has been exhibited in Armenia and Canada and has been featured in notable events such as the Armenian President’s Award and Art Battle.
Her evocative paintings have resonated with audiences worldwide, earning her an international following of over 14,000 followers on Instagram, and recognition for the emotional depth and sincerity of her work.

Hamlet Hovakimyan was born and educated in Armenia, where his early interest in visual arts led him to pursue formal training at the Yerevan State College of Fine Arts named after Panos Terlemezyan. From 2003 to 2011, he refined his technical skills and developed a distinctive artistic voice rooted in deep observation and expressive form.
Influenced by early 20th-century Cubist and Impressionist masters, Hamlet’s work is characterized by bold color palettes, dynamic compositions, and a strong sense of emotional depth. His paintings serve as a reflection of his inner world—blending imagination, emotion, and a unique perception of everyday reality.
Hamlet has exhibited his work in both Armenia and Canada. He primarily works in oil on canvas and continues to explore painterly expression through this medium. In addition to his studio practice, he is actively engaged in art education.
His work has attracted a wide international audience, with a growing online presence of over 20,000 followers on Instagram, reflecting strong global interest in his artistic vision.
Hamlet currently lives and works in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
